Session two:  How Did We Get Here?

September 26, 2021 • 4-5:30 p.m.

 

Why are reparations called for in Evanston; what was the harm and how did it happen?  We will explore how public and private action led to the segregation, diminished opportunity, and long-lasting wealth inequities experienced by the Black community. We will also look at how the White faith community responded to what was happening around them.

Morris “Dino” Robinson, Jr. 

Founder & Acting Director, Shorefront Legacy Center 

Production Coordinator, Northwestern University Press 

 

Dino is currently the Production Coordinator at Northwestern University Press. Throughout his career, he operated Robinson Design, was an instructor at Apple and an Art Director at various advertising firms in Chicago, IL. He holds a BA degree in Communication Design and a minor in African American Studies from Loyola University.

Dino also serves as the acting director of Shorefront Legacy Center, an organization he pioneered in 1995. In his role at Shorefront, Dino produces a quarterly journal (1999 - present), hosts dozens of lectures, and has assembled several subject specific traveling exhibits. He has also written three books.
